Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2014-present)
ADAPT Centre at Trinity College Dublin

  • Research on the extraction, identification and disambiguation of words and multi-word expressions, including specialised/domain-specific terminology
  • Collaboration with ADAPT's Industrial Partners on research projects involving NLP and Machine Learning

PhD Candidate (2009-2015)
Computational Linguistics Group, Trinity College Dublin

  • Research in geometric representations (distributional lexical semantics) for unsupervised word-sense induction and the literalness (compositionality) of multi-word expressions
  • PhD scholarship funded by Science Foundation Ireland through the Centre for Next Generation Localisation

Linguistic Engineer (2006-2009)
Microsoft Ireland

  • Worked at the team that owns Microsoft’s global terminology strategy and defines the company's language quality standards
  • Developed and co-developed numerous tools that supported the teriminology and language quality processes for the company's localisation efforts.

Spanish Terminologist (2000-2006)
Microsoft Ireland

  • Researched, translated and approved Microsoft terminology for the Spanish-speaking markets
  • Collaborated with in-country terminologists worldwide, Microsoft product teams, Spanish and Latin-American subsidiaries and vendors on terminology and software projects

Web Applications Developer (1998-2000)
Tecnológico de Monterrey

  • Developed a messaging system for a distance-learning online course, as well as the web interface and backend for a digital library
